The website www.beginningwell.org is provided by the non-profit association beginningwell – wertschätzender Umgang mit dem Säugling und Kleinkind (empathy and respectful care with babies and toddlers, hereafter named “beginning well”) with its registered office in Vienna, Austria.
When using the website the association beginning well (hereafter also “we”) also gathers some personal data from you at different places. The collected data will be treated in the strictest confidence and only used for purposes that you have been informed of in each case. Your data is of course gathered and processed in accordance with legal regulations.
The following describes what personal data we collect, how we protect it and how we use it.

General
You can first use the portal after registration or log-in. While you visit the portal our web server gathers general technical information such as type of browser, size of monitor, operating system, the IP address of your computer, which websites you have linked to via beginning well as well as the time and duration of your visit.

Registration
For your registration we ask you for your first name and surname as log-in names, your address and email address (inventory data) and we give you a password. Among other things we need this data to enable access and support as well as individual services such as participation in forums. Anonymous contributions are not possible.
During your visit to the portal we also automatically collect your user data (e.g. beginning and end of visit, pages visited etc.). As part of extended registration and use of the portal you can voluntarily make further data available to us, such as in forms (content data).

Permission / retraction / objection
During registration you agree that we may collect and save inventory, use and, where applicable, content data and use it to improve our service, for customer care, and where applicable for sending a newsletter, evaluation of usage patterns and for the design of our services to meet user requirements.
If you have given permission for the use of your data, you can retract this at any time by sending an email to: info@beginningwell.org or by sending a letter to the postal address of beginning well. However, if you do withdraw permission it may not be possible to use the portal any longer. Data created before your retraction (such as in forums etc.) may continue to be used by beginning well.

Cookies
When you visit the portal as a user, we and possibly other adservers/partners use cookies. These are small data packets which are saved on your hard disk with the help of your browser. Besides so-called session cookies which are automatically deleted when you log out or close your browser, we also use so-called permanent cookies which recognise repeated users for the function “Stay logged in on this computer”. These cookies are automatically deleted one year after your last visit.
You can of course delete cookies at any time via the appropriate browser function. There you can also set how your browser generally handles cookies. If you delete cookies or set your browser to reject them, this can impair the function of the portal. Particularly functions such as “Stay logged in on this computer”, which depend on using cookies, will not work in this case or will require new cookies.

Social plugins
Social plugins from various social networks such as Facebook, Google+ and Twitter are used on this portal. With these functions you can share various individual contents of the portal with your friends or recommend them.
In using these social plugins, such as the Facebook “like” button, the Google+ button or Twitter, personal data can be collected by the respective social network as described below.
When you visit a website on the portal in which a social plugin is integrated, the social network immediately makes a direct connection to your browser. Among other things the social network receives the information that you have visited this website with your IP address. This is irrespective of whether you are currently logged in to the social network or whether you are registered at all.
If you are simultaneously logged into a social network it will automatically correlate your page view to your profile. If you use the respective social plugins and recommend articles and content, for example, the network can correlate this information to your profile. If you do not want a social network to correlate your visit to our websites to your user account, log out of the use of the respective network when using our portal.
We would like to inform you that the data collected in connection with these social plugins is exclusively shared between your browser and the operators of the social networks. We know nothing about the content of the collected and delivered data. For this reason we recommend that you read the current data protection information from the below-mentioned operators of the social networks.

What data is stored?
The non-profit association beginningwell – wertschätzender Umgang mit dem Säugling und Kleinkind (empathy and respectful care with babies and toddlers, hereafter also “beginning well”) collects and processes personal data on donations, including: amount of donation, address, telephone number, email address and comments accompanying a donation. Fiscal regulations demand that we hold available contact data and donation sums.

How is this data used?
The association beginning well will never publish, sell, offer, lease or share with third parties in any other way personal data on donors. Any exception requires the express permission of the donor.
The contact data of our donors is used exclusively for the following purposes: sending receipts for donations, sending thanks for donations (of a certain sum), sending information about current and future activities of the association beginning well (if requested), internal evaluation and book-keeping, information to tax authorities in accordance with valid legislation, information to donors about changes to these regulations.
Anonymous donor data can be used for project promotion and fundraising. If a donor has not expressly agreed to the publication of his data, it will be handled confidentially.
We reserve the right to change this data protection declaration (General Data Protection Declaration and Data Protection for Personal Donor Data) at any time with effect for the future.
